About Dr Pedro PalmaDr Palma is President and Founder Fellow of the Venezuelan National Academy of Economic Sciences. Founding Partner of MetroEconómica, a firm of economic consultants since 1977, Professor of Economics at I.E.S.A., member of the Executive Committee of “Project Link”, an international team of economists sponsored by the United Nations and the University of Pennsylvania, which periodically analyzes the evolution of the world economic outlook. He has served on the boards of several Venezuelan and international organiza­tions, including: the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VenAmCh am), over which he presided during the years 2000 and 2001. During the 1991-1997 years he was a vice president (partner) of Booz çAllen çHamilton INC., one of the largest world-wide consulting firms. He is a member of The Wharton School’s “Executive Board for Latin America”.He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, as well as an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also obtained an MA and the Ph.D. in Economics.
