Edinburgh Festival

The Simon Bolivar String Quartet will be playing at the final concert in the Queen's Hall series. Young, talented & passionate, the musicians of the Quartet, Alejandro Carreno, Eduardo Salazar, Ismel Campos and Aimon Mata are all associated with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra and El Sistema. 11am on Saturday the 4th September 2010.

HE Samuel Moncada Accepts Honorary Presidency of AVS

The Society is delighted to announce that at its Annual General Meeting held on 24th September 2008, the Members voted unanimously in favour of HE Samuel Moncada, Venezuelan Ambassador to the Court of St James, becoming the new Honorary President of the Society.
Election of New Chairman of the Society
June 2008
Mr Juan Urdaneta, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Society, taking over from Mrs Sally Unwin who is standing down after more that 3 years.
Mr Urdaneta, is the first Venezuelan to Chair the Society and we all wish him well with his new responsibilities.
